The Social Groups of New France
There were three major social groups in New France:
Nobility or the colonial elite which included army officers, upper clergy and administrators.
Middle class or bourgeoisie which included merchants and civil servants.
Common People which included the habitants, parish priests, coureurs-des-bois, and tradesmen.
